The Summer of Nonstop Funat the DSN Beach Club

If there WAS one word to describe summer at the DSN Beach Club, it would be unforgettable. With more than 60 events and programs throughout the season, the DSN Beach Club was bustling all summer long, a place where community members could escape, connect, celebrate and be entertained.

The programming was intentionally diverse, with something for every age, interest and stage of life. From concerts and family nights to women’s programming, singles events, shopping experiences, nonprofit gatherings and everything in between, the Beach Club truly became the place to be this summer.
The spirit of the season was simple. We were here to enjoy summer. And what made this year’s programming so special was its incredible variety.
Mother-and-child programming created memorable opportunities to connect and spend meaningful time together, with embroidery events, the much-anticipated Taylor Swift concert experience, Marielody and more. Families enjoyed exciting entertainment from magician and mentalist David Rosenfeld, while the Beach Camp Overnight gave kids an unforgettable summer adventure of their own. And, of course, there was Bingo, because summer at the Beach Club should always include a little friendly competition and a lot of laughs.
For the women of DSN, the programming was equally dynamic. Art experiences featuring Sara Harary, Jill Levy, Jaclyn Bailey and Sylia Aboudi offered creative escapes, while Esther Tawachi led a parenting class designed to provide insight and inspiration. La Femme Phoenix’s Nicole Betesh, Summer Essentials with Gal Abadie, and Rita Inspired for Tu B’Av created even more opportunities for women to gather, learn, shop and celebrate together.
Of course, no summer at the Beach Club would be complete without music, and DSN delivered. Music took center stage with a concert calendar featuring something for every generation and musical taste. Nobeh, Rock the Shore, Doo Wop, Back to the Roots, and David Clark’s Billy Joel and Elton John Tribute transformed the Beach Club into a summer concert venue. Members gathered under the stars for evenings filled with music and that unmistakable feeling of being on vacation without ever having to leave the community.
The response to the summer’s programming was extraordinary. The Deal Shark event, presented in partnership with Victor Braca and Momentum, drew more than 400 people. Braca captured the excitement of the evening, saying, “This event is going to change how the community does business.”
The Beach Club also became a destination for shopping and discovering something new. Multiple boutique shows brought a curated selection of vendors and products to the club, while Selena Gindi’s curated experience with Revolve/FWRD introduced members to an elevated shopping experience. Moda Operandi and LoveShackFancy added another stylish dimension to the summer calendar. It was all part of creating a Beach Club experience that went far beyond simply spending a day at the beach.
Some of the summer’s most meaningful moments came through DSN’s nonprofit and community partnerships. The Beach Club welcomed organizations and events including the Kameo Foundation Carnival, IDFWO Bar Mitzvah, Ball 4 Israel, Lev Avi and more. “These amazing gatherings brought people together around causes that matter while adding even more energy and purpose to the summer calendar,” said Jen Sasson, DSN’s Nonprofit Coordinator.
Programming also expanded opportunities for singles to connect. The summer included a Shabbat lunch, Mazza on Friday for singles over 30, and other special gatherings, including an exciting event with Two Cuzzos benefiting Toys for Hospitalized Children, combining a memorable singles experience with support for an important cause.
And if anyone thought the summer was winding down, DSN had other plans. The Beach Club kept the energy going with even more entertainment, including Ladies Mahjong Night, The Clash cover band, The Bee Gees, and an end-of-summer singles get-together.
As Beach Club Program Director Caleigh Silvera noted, “At DSN Beach Club, summer doesn’t only mean slowing down and vacationing. It means one more concert. One more night with friends. One more family memory. One more reason to get dressed, head to the Beach Club and enjoy all it has to offer.”
Victoria Sutton, DSN Executive Board member and Chairperson of Beach Club Programming and Events, reflected on what made the season so meaningful. “There was something so special about walking into DSN Beach Club on a summer day and seeing it come alive, the building full, the lobby bustling with Jeli’s and Outpost, Teva filled for lunch and dinner, our singles gathering at Teva on Saturday nights, the beach and basketball courts full, Group Exercise classes busy in the mornings, special events and programs happening, and nonprofits bringing our community together. It was truly a blessing to see it all come together.
“We are incredibly grateful to our members and our entire community and, above all, we thank Hashem for the blessing of this special place where we can come together, connect, celebrate and create memories. We look forward to a beautiful fall season and, BH, many more great things to come. We wish everyone a happy, healthy and joyous New Year filled with blessings and special moments together.”
