DSN’s Adult Softball League concluded its exciting season with the World Series championship game on Wednesday, July 8, bringing another memorable year of competition, camaraderie, and community spirit to a close.

Running from May through early July, the league featured four teams of 12 players each, creating the perfect balance between friendly competition and a welcoming atmosphere. The league continues to provide adults with an opportunity to stay active, connect with friends, and enjoy the game alongside family members and fellow community members.
Each season, DSN adds a fun twist by selecting a creative theme for its team names. This year, with a playful nod to the players’ ages, the teams were named after popular pain relievers. They were the Magic Motrins, Advil Avengers, Tylenol Titans, and IbuPROfens. The lighthearted theme added to the fun and helped make the season even more memorable.
Leading the league is Commissioner Eddie Anzarouth, who has been organizing successful adult leagues in the community for more than two decades. In addition to overseeing the men’s league, Eddie also runs women’s leagues, helping provide quality recreational opportunities for adults throughout the summer.
This year’s championship belonged to the Magic Motrins, captained by Charlie Cytryn. The Motrins defeated Jon Entel’s Tylenol Titans by a score of 10 to 4 to capture the title. The championship game drew an incredible turnout, with family members, friends, and supporters filling the sidelines to cheer on the teams and celebrate another successful season.
Charlie reflected on the experience, saying, “Joining the over-40 men’s league reminded me that while we may not run as fast as we used to, we can still play the game, and have a blast doing it! The best part was reconnecting with teammates and friends I hadn’t shared a field with in years. Being the captain of our championship team made the season one I’ll never forget!”
Sports continue to play a vital role at DSN, and the adult softball leagues are no exception. While DSN is widely recognized for its outstanding youth programming, its adult leagues have become a thriving part of the organization’s offerings. The league reflects DSN’s commitment to serving all ages by creating opportunities for exercise, recreation, and meaningful community connections.
DSN Executive Director Sammy Sitt praised the players and the continued growth of the league: “One of the greatest strengths of DSN is our ability to create meaningful experiences that bring people together at every stage of life. The success of our over-40 adult softball league is a testament to the commitment of our players and staff who make these programs so special. Congratulations to all of the players on an outstanding season, and a special congratulations to the Magic Motrins on their championship victory.”
