The Aleppo Haggadah: A Must for Every Syrian Table

There is a brand new magnificent haggadah by Syrian rabbis that has been produced by Rabbi Ronnie Kassin, with the help of the Sephardic Food Fund (SFF).

This beautiful haggadah is a must for every Syrian table; it includes explanations and commentaries dating from the 17th century, in a new format, so that our children can feel connected to their illustrious past.

The paper is of the highest quality, as are the magnificent pictures. It is written in both English and Hebrew and includes many commentaries so that everyone can understand it.

The author, Rabbi Ronnie Kassin, son of Rabbi Sam Kassin, has been working on it for the past few years to get out the Aram Tzova Haggadah (named also The Aleppo Haggadah).

His information came from the National Library, and from private libraries throughout Israel. Some of the commentaries are printed for the first time, since they were taken from handwritten manuscripts.

This haggadah will give the younger generation a feeling of pride in their ancestors. The commentaries may be hundreds of years old, but are just as relevant as if they had been written yesterday.

“We want the younger generation to be proud of what their ancestors did and wrote. We want them to want to be part of our community and to look forward to a fruitful future, being part of the Aleppo heritage,” said Rabbi Kassin.

The SFF took it upon itself to sponsor this Passover haggadah because of the deep meaning of unity that Passover teaches us. It is a festival where nobody feels alone, and everybody wants to help the needy.

The edition of the Aleppo Haggadah is limited. For purchase, please contact the SFF at (866) SFF-FUND or (732) 363-6384 or email info@thesff.org. (Part of the proceeds will go directly to the needy).
