Everyone knows that all holidays can be used as educational tools for children. Needless to say, Pesach is the chag (holiday) that tradition teaches us to convey our heritage to our children. In fact, the entire Seder reflects that teaching.
At Sharei Hayosher Preschool, the annual visit to a matzah bakery was reversed by bringing a matzah bakery to the preschool, much to the delight of the children and parents alike. Every student was given a particular task, allowing them to feel unique at their important role of baking matzahs for their very own Seder plate.
It was a delight to see the joy and excitement as they busied themselves with baking the matzah as instructed by their respective teachers.
“I was so proud of my child when she came home with her matzah. Indeed, the holiday became so real and special and its really heartwarming to see the dedication of the teachers at Sharei Hayosher to their children when they go the extra mile to bring out each child’s unique abilities and talents,” said one parent in response to the matzah bakery phenomenon.
