The boys love TeddyThe Sanhedria Children’s Home in Jerusalem is a residential rehabilitation center for boys aged six years and up. These kids come from extremely disadvantaged homes where they suffered severe emotional and/or physical abuse and neglect. Their wounds are deep and real and hidden beneath the surface. Sanhedria nurtures their physical, emotional and spiritual needs and gives them a loving and stable home.

Dental Treatments for Children

Many people think that routine dental treatment for children consists of putting “little fillings in little teeth.” In fact, treating decay (cavities) in children is an entirely different science from treating adults. Pediatric dentists have at least two years of graduate training after dental school to enable them to provide the correct care for children. Just as you wouldn’t think of bringing your child to any doctor other than a pediatrician, so should you bring your children to a pediatric dentist.

Despite the urge for the school to open for those reasons alone, it was still unsafe. Many streets were unplowed. Cars were still stuck and buried, making driving near impossible. But, just because Barkai’s doors were closed didn’t mean that the learning stopped.

Brooklyn’s Best Toastmasters club celebrated its 10th anniversary this past month. Founded in 2000 by Ralph Tawil, Charles Mizrahi and Ronald Tawil, the club was proud to celebrate its 10th Anniversary with two of the three founders in attendance.

ICRF to Honor Rabbi Dr. Elie Abadie

The Israel Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) will host its Tower of Hope Gala on March 10 at the Mandarin Oriental in New York City. Rabbi Eli Abadie, MD, will be honored along with Helene Miller—whose late husband, Dr. Daniel G. Miller, founded ICRF—and Dr. Daniel F. Roses, the Jules Leonard Whitehill Professor of Surgery and Oncology of the New York University School of Medicine, Senior Attending Surgeon at Tisch Hospital of the New York University Medical Center and Director of Surgical Oncology.

YOF Hebrew Week Inspiring Conversation and Creativity

For an entire week, Yeshivah of Flatbush Lower Division students immersed themselves entirely in the Hebrew language. The special week—named Shavuah TALI—was organized by the YOF Torah Studies Department to enhance one of its fundamental goals—fluency in Hebrew. The week-long event was the brainchild of Elementary School Principal Rabbi Lawrence Schwed, and was developed into a fantastic program.
