Ohel Leah Synagogue, the crown jewel of Asian Jewry, was built in 1902 and remains the center of Jewish religious activity in Hong Kong. They are an Orthodox congregation, with members from over 20 countries. They are a full-service community with a mikveh, Va’ad Hakashrut and Judaica store. They also offer educational and social programs for adults, teens and children, as well as daily and Shabbat services.

Alongside their firm commitment to Torah law, Ohel Leah embraces diversity and avoids judgementalism. With members representing over 20 nationalities, whose Jewish backgrounds span the entire religious spectrum, Ohel Leah is one of the most diverse synagogues in the world.
Members are encouraged to express their Sephardic, Yemenite, English, French or Israeli religious cultures within the community. The varied customs and melodies of their services reflect this fusion of religious heritages. Every Jew is warmly welcomed to explore his or her Judaism.
On Friday evenings, they welcome the Sabbath with songs. On Shabbat mornings, they pray while toddlers gather in the adjoining Jewish Community Center for youth services. Everyone—members and visitors, adults and kids—then get together for a complimentary sit-down lunch.
On Shabbat afternoons, everyone is welcome to enjoy pre-Minha classes. After services, all partake in seudah shlishit (the third Shabbat meal) followed by evening services and havdalah.
