New Books For Children Teach Jewish Values

Over the past 27 years, Kar-Ben Publishing has published more than 150 books for Jewish children and their families. They are pleased to announce the release of these new titles:

The Littlest Mountain
In The Littlest Mountain, humble Mount Sinai proves that small can be mighty.

When G-d realizes that the people of the world need rules to live by, He decides to speak to them from a mountaintop—but which one? Beautiful Mount Carmel, tall Mount Hermon, and majestic Mount Tabor all vie for the honor of being chosen, but little Mount Sinai is quiet. Which mountain will G-d select?

In sweet child-friendly text, readers are reminded that sometimes it’s the quiet and modest ones who win the day over the loud, proud and blustery. Beautiful illustrations give each mountain a distinct personality. This book is appropriate for children three to eight years old.

Jumping Jenny
Jenny loves to jump, but when her energetic jumping gets her into trouble, she decides to retire her pogo stick. Then her school decides to hold a fundraising fair, and she discovers that her skill can be used for a good cause.

In a story to which kids, teachers and parents can easily relate, a cute high-energy kid uses an unusual skill to do a good deed, and teaches a special Jewish value in a contemporary setting.

Jumping Jenny encourages physical activity as a way to do good. This book is appropriate for children five to nine years old.

Yuvi’s Candy Tree
Plucky Yuvi, a little Jewish girl living in Ethiopia, dreams of a place where bread is plentiful and candy grows on trees. Yuvi’s Candy Tree tells the story of her extraordinary journey from Ethiopia to Israel with her grandmother. From famine and fear to oranges and freedom, her arrival in Israel is a literal dream come true.

Yuvi’s Candy Tree is based on the true story of Yuvi Thashome, who immigrated to Israel during Operation Moses, which brought thousands of Ethiopian Jewish refugees  to Israel. This book is appropriate for children five through nine years old.

Ella’s Trip to Israel
Young Ella and her stuffed monkey take a trip to Israel with her family. Ella enjoys visiting the country’s famous sites, while Koofi the monkey experiences Israel in his own surprising and endearing way.

With few words and adorable water color illustrations, this book is a great introduction to Israel for preschoolers. This book is appropriate for children one to four years old.
