Baby Bleu
It all started eight years ago with a pool party and love of gorgeous linens. Even as a newly married young woman, I delighted in a beautifully dressed Shabbat table and crisply tailored linens for my home.
One hot, slow summer day, I impulsively purchased a closeout of beautiful Austrian table linens and brought them to a pool party; the women there shared a love of fine, well-made table linens and were delighted by the quality and price of what I offered.
The next thing I knew, I was running with my husband and one week old baby to a meeting that eventually resulted in a business relationship with Sferra, the luxury Italian linen company. They took a chance on me, and the result was a career combining my passion and art. My shop, a linen closet in my mothers basement, was small, but my joy in pairing people with the perfect linens was huge; I loved seeing my clients excitement as they chose something beautiful, fresh and special.
Many Shades of Bleu
Although our clients happiness was our only advertisement, soon that small linen closet was no longer able to accommodate the array of fine linens and designer brands I offered. Word spread about the Magen David teacher with a basement showroom filled with the same designer lines that the awnings on Madison Avenue boasted: Sonia Rykiel, Blumarine, Signoria, Matouk, Missoni, Escada Home and more.
One evening I might be working with a client in my home, mixing and matching patterns and designs of the finest, most luxurious fabrics, and the next we would be sitting in their newly purchased home, with their decorator and my suitcase of swatches.
Clients decorated entire homes, from the finger towels in their powder rooms, to linens, to their new nursery with our well-priced designer fabrics. As both our client list and access to designers grew, my basement showroom could no longer accommodate the array of gorgeous linens we had the ability to offer.
Midnight Bleu
We then took over an entire house and branded our own label for our custom designs. We sell by appointment only and were fortunate to attract to our team, Efrat Sigoura, whose good taste and creativity is unmatched. Efrat works with clients to personalize their choices with elegance and style.
Our showroom carries hundreds of lines, of the finest fabrics, and we work with clients to customize every aspect of their home. We are experienced in assisting those initial choices made for newlywed apartments, as well as offering selections for pied-a-tiers all around the world. We have become the gold standard in home dcoror as some refer to our beautiful and unique offeringsthe Bleu Standard.
