On a visit to Gaza during which he called the destruction wrought upon the territory by Israel “a shame to the international community,” UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon was given a tour of a so-called “terror tunnel” by Israeli officials. The Israel Defense Forces said the tunnel was located in the south of Israel and reported that Ban was “briefed on the extent of Hamas’ strategic abuse of civilian infrastructure in order to carry out attacks”.
