Gesher Yehuda celebrated its annual commencement at the beautiful Bnei Yitzhak Synagogue recently.
Rabbi Eli Mansour, brought his signature warmth and wit to the event as keynote speaker. The graduates proudly marched down the aisle as their families and friends looked on with great joy and nachat.
This year, there was an added highlight to the evening. One of Gesher’s long time staff members was awarded a special honor at the graduation.
Mrs. Devori Berger was presented with a beautifully framed Aishet Chayil. A close friend, colleague, and former Gesher staff member, Mrs. Lea Schlesinger delivered a poignant speech detailing the outstanding service that Mrs. Berger provided the school with over the years.
Starting out as a special education teacher before being promoted to her current position as Educational Director of the upper division, Mrs. Berger has been an integral member of Gesher’s interdisciplinary team for 13 years. Mrs. Berger’s dedication to the academic, social and emotional well-being of the students is well-known. She makes every decision with her special formula of wisdom, love and professionalism regarding staff and students alike.
Scores of students and teachers have benefited from Mrs. Berger’s keen understanding, superb insight and exceptional devotion. Gesher Yehuda is privileged to count her as one of its’ staff members.
Mabrouk to the fine graduates and to Mrs. Devori Berger for receiving a well-deserved honor.
