At a recent induction ceremony, Jack Fatiha, MD, was sworn in by FDNY Commissioner Salvatore J. Cassano. Other dignitaries, including our community’s Supreme Court Justice Bruce M. Balter, were present to congratulate the newest member of this elite group of surgeons.
Also in attendance was Jack Lerch, Honorary Chief of the FDNY, who oversees this incredible network of physicians. Working in New York City and the surrounding boroughs, these dedicated doctors pledge to assist injured members of the FDNY and their immediate family members when they are in need of medical treatment.
When New York’s Bravest and Finest need health care, they know the approved list of honorary surgeons represents those very qualities themselves—and now, Dr. Fatiha has joined those ranks.
The FDNY plays an enormously critical role in this city’s day-to-day safety. This honor acknowledges his role as one of the behind the scene members who aids in ensuring that the departments not only live up to their reputations but that they soar to even greater heights in the years ahead.
Dr. Fatiha stated at his induction, “It is a privilege to be named an honorary medical officer and to serve members of the FDNY who put their lives on the line everyday for this city.”
Founder of First Family Care, Dr. Fatiha finished his medical residency in family medicine and urgent care at Wayne State University Hospital which is ranked one of the best state hospitals in the country. He is also an attending physician in both Maimonides and Methodist Hospitals.
Dr. Fatiha is routinely listed as one of the top doctors in the New York Metro area. He has the respect and admiration of his patients and the recognition of his peers.
It is my greatest pleasure as his wife to say congratulations to my dear husband, who is not only an elite surgeon, but also a loving husband and father. Best wishes for continued success in your vital work!”
