JCC’s all-star summer lineup is already the talk of the town among sports and fitness fans of all ages. Not only will three former major league baseball players be on staff teaching JCC campers, but the JCC is proud to announce partnerships with leading instructors from Brooklyn.
Michael Cohen of the incomparable Body By Mike fitness program will offer personal training by appointment all summer at the JCC’s newly upgraded fitness center. Michael and his staff will provide training to men and women, ages 14 and up, with convenient morning, afternoon and evening hours. Body By Mike will also offer Pilates Reformer training for up to three people per session. Michael, who has more than 33 years of fitness experience, has a staff of accomplished male and female trainers all on the cutting edge of fitness.
JCC offers a special all-inclusive summer membership for $299, which is valid from now through the end of the hagim (holidays) in October. The membership includes use of the fitness center, pool, track, aerobics, yoga, spin and pilates classes. Eleven new spin bikes were recently added, as well as new ellipticals and treadmills, and the aerobics studio was remodeled. Plus, Denise Bucciero has made sure that your favorite instructors are back!
We have unforgettable after-camp programs, too. The JCC is proud to be collaborating this summer with Elliot Hirsch of Hirsch ‘AthlEtics.’ Elliot will offer a sensational after-camp sports league at the JCC, beginning on June 23. Elliot is a top ranked player on the Brooklyn College Men’s Tennis Team, and the Sunday program sports director of Magen David Yeshivah. Elliot’s after-camp sports include basketball, kickball and soccer for boys and girls.
Sure Shot Basketball Camp, under the expert direction of Ike Dweck, is also back at the JCC for another magnificent year, from August 25-29. For 18 years, Sure Shot has provided an unforgettable camp experience for boys ages 7-13 and girls ages 9-14.
The JCC is also pleased to partner once again with Shirley Catton and Monique Sultan of Art Shack. Their after-camp creative art program starts on June 23. And of course campers will not want to miss the after-camp program with Marilyn, Nancee and Gladys, featuring sports, cooking and art, starting August 21.
Three former major league baseball players will teach one-week specialty camps; including Art Shamsky, 1969 World Series Mets champion; Ron Blomberg, former Yankees player and current Yankees scout and Elliott Maddox, former Yankees and Mets player.
The JCC boasts more than 200 specially trained counselors from the community, under the expert direction of Camp Director Randi Cohen, Associate Camp Director Randy Topper, Camp Shalom Staff Development Coordinator Sonia Falack and Program Coordinator Gladys Bailey.
