Ahi Ezer Yeshiva, our home away from home, is where our children spend most of their time and energy growing and interacting in the most healthy environment possible.
School is the most important part of a child’s development, therefore in Ahi Ezer, we insure that your child will be in the best hands. These past few months in school were filled with fun, educational learning experiences.
Our 7th and 8th graders are privileged to learn about the Holocaust and in order for them to understand it even better, we had a Holocaust survivor named Mr. Jack Ratz come and speak to the girls about his hard and amazing life. To show our appreciation our girls made Mr. Ratz beautiful thank you letters writing what they gained and learned from his visit. In honor of our graduating class Mr. Jack Ratz had a wonderful surprise; he gave each 8th grader a copy of his book, “Endless Miracles,” donated by Susan Edelstein Cagen.
Shabbaton is finally here! Our 8th grade, hosted by their fantastic teachers, spent Shabbat in Lawrence and Far rockaway. Friday morning they were off on their journey to a magnificent ice-skating rink. As the day came to an end, girls were stationed in different homes to experience a wonderful Friday night meal. Shabbat day, our 8th grade got together and had a beautiful meal with singing and games and excitement. It didn’t stop there, Motzai Shabbat we all came back to Ahi Ezer for more fun. The girls decorated tote bags and we threw a pizza party with singing and dancing.
Our 6th graders, hosted by their amazing teachers, had a wonderful Shabbaton as well. Girls were stationed in different Syrian homes where they experienced a Shabbat like no other. Shabbat day the entire grade got together in Avenue O Synagogue where they had a marvelous Shabbat meal. The girls presented a gorgeous choir and an adorable skit. Then formed into groups where they had brilliant workshops on “Ben Adam Lechavero” and “Shimirat Halashon,” Motzai Shabbat was packed with fun and excitement as well. The girls went for pizza and had an amazing Zumba class. This Shabbaton was a weekend they will never forget.
Our pre-school is busy working on Berachot. For the Beracha of Hamotzi the children made beautiful challot for Shabbat.
Our delightful 1st graders had a siddur play headed by their teacher, Mrs Baum. The girls put on an adorable performance and each girl received a siddur of her very own which she will cherish forever. The students and the parents of the first graders enjoyed watching every minute of this beautiful presentation.
