Years ago, a devoted group of men from our community saw our desperate need for a school. Not just any school, but a yeshivah that would instill in our youth the right education, engrave in our girls the mesorah (heritage)of our people, and teach them the ways of the Torah. Their dream became reality. Today, Ahi Ezer Yeshiva is proud to educate over 300 students and provide them with a true, solid Jewish education. Our school establishes in each girl the right secular education and shows our students the correct values and middot (values).
Ahi Ezer’s growth and success can be attributed to its unbelievable board of directors, Bunny Escava, Aslan Bawabeh, Eli Levy, and Albert Ayal. Although each of the board members lives his own busy life, they have all invested countless time, effort, and funds into our wonderful school. Their constant dedication and concern is obvious in all actions they perform. However, the school’s ultimate success lies in the hands of the community itself. If not for their constant support, the vision of Ahi Ezer Yeshiva would never have become a reality.
Recenly, at Ahi Ezer Yeshiva, the wonderful first grade students worked so hard preparing for their exciting siddur (prayer book) play. Each and every student participated so nicely. They learned and sang songs, bringing joy to Hashem—as well as their proud parents and teachers. At the end of the play, each student got to go home with their very own siddur. The kids had the biggest smiles on their faces as they received their gift. The cherry on top of an amazing day was the cake in a shape of a siddur with the words, Mazal Tov Kitah Aleph (congratulations 1st grade) written on it, which was enjoyed by all of the students and their guests. Mazal Tov to our first graders on this exciting milestone.
There was also an mazing Tzedakah Contest to raise money for families in need. Each student was given a tzedakah box to fill and at the end of the month, the student who raised the most money was awarded her very own iPad. The girls were excited for weeks on end in anticipation of the announcement of the winner. Mazal Tov to our special winner, fourth grader Esther Chalouh. We are so proud of you!
