Kspace Miami is a meeting place for Jewish young adults in the South Florida area. This wonderful organization’s goals are to offer an open space to people between the ages of 18 and 36, where they can relax, have a good time and meet each other in a comfortable atmosphere. They also provide them with a path of enlightenment and tradition in a Jewish environment in order to awaken and strengthen their Jewish identity.
Through their entertaining and meaningful weekly events, they are committed to offering a means that will ignite the spiritual light found within every young Jewish soul.
Kspace is not only a meeting place for young Jewish adults; it’s also a center for learning and an organization that plans exciting social events. It was founded because Florida has one of the largest, growing, young Jewish populations in the country and they need to connect with their peers in a safe and inviting environment. It’s a place where young adults can express themselves while steering clear of drugs, violence and crime.
All young people appreciate good role-models and the leaders at Kspace are the best. Rabbi Yossi Smierc is the general director and Yossi Srugo is the co-director, who loves interacting with the members.
The Kspace events are innovative and fun. The Brazilian Shabbat Dinner was a huge success. Over 100 people were on hand to enjoy each other’s company while eating delicious food; everyone had fun on the Hanukah boat ride and their last annual Shabbaton trip to Key Largo was amazing and resulted in three couples getting engaged; one of them is getting married soon.
Before the presidential election, there was a political open mic night. The young participants were each given three minutes to share their thoughts about the candidates and the election.
Rabbi Menachem Nissel, from Israel, visited Kspace to talk about platonic relationships and why it’s so hard for men and women to understand each other. Rabbi Manis Friedman, a renowned speaker and life coach also paid a visit to Kspace to speak about healthy self-esteem and how some people prevent themselves from achieving success. The lecture was called “I Am, I Want, You’re in My Way.”
Rabbi Yossi offers Torah classes called Wireless Connection with G-d. Held every Monday at 9 pm, each class deals with a different theme. Some of the subjects discussed in class were kashrut, Shabbat and purity in the home.
Many members expressed that they wanted to make a difference in people’s lives, so the C Project was created in loving memory of Luli Pines A”H. The C Project Luli Pines Foundation gives members the opportunity to volunteer and give back to the community. Every individual can express their giving in their own unique way. Some teamed up with Chai Lifeline and took part in their marathon. There’s a big brother and big sister group, and some members visit the homes of elderly community members.
In addition to all this, Kspace offers career help to those looking for jobs. They pair young Jewish professionals with employers within the community.
Recently this wonderful organization moved their center to the Waterways Shopping Center in Aventura. Whether you want to make friends, help the community or find a job, Kspace Miami will make it happen. Visit Kspacemiami.com to join today.
