Recently, Hillel Yeshiva held two wonderful programs with fathers and grandfathers interacting with their children.
Buddy Breakfast Day has always been a special day for Hillel kindergarteners. After a beautiful Tefilla led by Rabbi Ezekiel Somekh, the Kindergarten children sang some of their favorite Shabbat songs for their guests. Following a delicious breakfast, the children, dads and grandfathers broke into groups for exciting activities.
The first activity was the Best Buddies Book, wherein the kindergarten students and their dads worked shoulder-to-shoulder to author and illustrate their own books. The resulting books, complete with pictures of each child and their guest, are beautiful to behold. The second and third groups enjoyed special buddy relay races and sports activities with Coach Shlomo Weiss. Some of the favorite activities the obstacle course, tug-of-war and scooter races. Buddy Breakfast Day proved to be a meaningful experience between the kindergarteners and their guests with memories that will last a long time.
Later that day, the First-Steps, Pre-Nursery, Nursery and PreK dads arrived at school eagerly anticipating an exciting experience with their children. The dads’ faces displayed strong feelings of awe and pride as they realized that their children had entered the real world.
