ORT Goes to Atlantic City

Every summer, a group of men and women add to the fun of being at the Jersey Shore by chartering buses to Atlantic City. Happy faces and big smiles abound, as everyone aboard the bus is excited for the trip and the thrill of trying to make an easy buck. For an hour and a half, they hear and tell jokes, participate in an auction, and split the pot, all of which benefits ORT (Organization for Rehabilitation through Training).

ORT’s technical schools are worldwide and offer valuable support to those who enroll. Some of the professions they teach include: engineering, computer science, business, woodworking, sewing, English language, and more.

At the end of the outing, whether they’ve won or lost in the casinos, everyone leaves feeling like a winner because they have each contributed to ORT, whose motto is: “Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach him how to fish and feed him for life.”
