NYPD Wins Greenfield Classic

Councilman David Greenfield hit a home run with his First Annual Greenfield Classic, a softball game between Shomrim Boro Park Division and the 66th Precinct, held  at Gravesend Park

Throughout the seven hard-fought innings, Shomrim Boro Park and the 66th Precinct played their hearts out for a crowd of cheering spectators. The game got off to a quick start with the 66th Precinct snatching an early lead, which they held until the third inning when Shomrim Boro Park tied the game at five. The game came down to the wire, with the 66th Precinct inching out a twelve-to-seven victory.

“It was a thrilling game from start to finish,” said a jubilant Councilman Greenfield. “While the 66th Precinct won the game, everyone wins because the relationship between the NYPD, Shomrim, and the community is stronger than ever.”

Councilman Greenfield continued, “Despite a bit of rain, the community came out in full force and you could really feel the festive spirit in the air. The game was a rousing success and I’m already looking forward to next summer’s rematch.”
