Magen David Yeshivah’s PTA kicked off the summer with three successful events. Summer is the perfect time for students and parents to socialize and build on the bonds built during the school year.

On June 23rd, a fun bowling tournament was held for incoming 5th and 6th graders at Bradley Bowl. Over 75 children competed for 1st place trophies. The 1st place winners were: Richie Ayal, Mal Franco, Ikey Dayan, and Moses Betesh. The second place winners were: Emma Dayan, Yola Haber, Carol Sabbagh and Lorraine Gammal. Many thanks to Lisa Elo and Jeanie Zalta for all of their hard work.

On July 5th, an invigorating Mother/Daughter Zumba event was held for all ages. On a gorgeous morning, everyone enjoyed Zumba with Lynda Levy. What a wonderful way to bond! Many thanks to Marlene Bibi and Frieda Shama for their hard work, and to Debbie and Asher Zamir, for graciously opening up their home for the event.

On July 16th, our annual couples bowling tournament was held at the Bradley Bowling Alley. With almost 80 couples participating, the tournament was a smash hit!

Each team consisted of three couples, and was designated a specific “candy lane” to vie for the coveted first prize. Each group played two games. The team with the highest combined scores was awarded first place and a trophy for their efforts. The first place winners were: Beth and Joey Dayan, Eva and David Dayan, and Maddy and Natie Shabot. David Shamah had the highest score. In addition to bowling, delicious food was provided by Shimon of Kings Highway Glatt. Each couple was given a complimentary challah by Robin Tobias and a mazza package for participating.

The evening would not have been possible without the organization and commitment of Lisa Elo and Claudine Bennaim, and the many members of the Magen David PTA. Magen David would also like to thank Chantilly, Candyland, Igloo Ices, Robin Tobias, and Ben Simon for their generous donations.
