The tournament consisted of 10 teams of three. Each team was given a grill, a table, a piece of chicken, a steak, a burger and a secret ingredient, which had to be incorporated into the three dishes. They were instructed to create three dishes using their own ingredients and utensils. Teams had exactly an hour to present their three dishes, which were graded based on taste, presentation and creativity.
Teams made all sorts of meat dishes and the judges were really impressed. It was tough to choose from all the fabulous creations; however, one team stood out: Haim Abadi, Allen Mustacchi and Marc Zaccai were our first place winners. Each team member received an iHome digital home system and a first place plaque.
Nesach Yisrael, literally “the eternity of Israel,” is a school which helps teach, clothe, nourish, medicate, guide and nurture children from broken homes, poverty stricken families and children with learning disabilities and behavioral problems. Rabbi Harari goes above and beyond his call of duty, treating his students as if they were his very own children.
Nesach Yisrael would like to thank all who attended and supported our cause, and a special thanks to our wonderful and hardworking committee: Eddie Massre, Teri Sutton, Sarita Setton, Shirley Maymie, Suzy Mosseri and Charles Cohen; and to Audrey and Stevie Shalom for graciously opening their home for such a worthy cause.
