Usually, holiday time brings new fall outfits, new trends, and crisp fall air. Not this year, because Rosh Hashanah falls so early that it will probably still be warm out. So, the big question is, what is acceptable attire? Here are some tips and fall trends that I hope will be helpful:

1. You don’t have to sweat in clothes made of wool and tweed. The practical attire when dressing up on the holidays involves a transitional dress, but be sure to go with fall colors. Remember, light colors go out of style after Labor Day.

2. One of the more popular styles for this fall is draped dresses. This figure flattering look is this season’s runway favorite.

3. This fall’s most essential piece is an oversized silk blouse, which goes perfectly with slim trousers or a pleated skirt.

4. Lace, lace, and more lace. Lace can be defined as fall’s exemplary feminine touch. A little touch of lace can be found on chiffon blouses, gloves, pumps and dresses. A lace accessory can really dress up a simple outfit.

5. Another smart choice in accessorizing this fall is pearls. Layered or alone, pearls are the season’s wisest and classiest choice. New styles show multi-strand necklaces and bracelets, as well as cuff bracelets.

6. The platform and wedge pump shoes are the stylish looks in terms of footwear. Crisscross leather straps in front and back zip are styles to look for.

7. Wraps, capes, and ponchos come in a variety of different shapes and styles. Each is the perfect accent when walking home if the weather turns cool or rainy.
