Father’s Day at Barkai Yeshivah

The annual father-child program at Barkai Yeshivah was a huge success this year. The early childhood division, led by dynamic Director Mrs. Sherri Horowitz, hosted a special father’s day celebration with a festive breakfast, music, learning and hands-on activities.

Fathers, grandfathers and other guests first joined the students for morning tefillah led by Rabbi Shelomo Levi. Parents took pride at the children’s group prayer, sung to  the proper Syrian tunes.

The next event was a craft collaboration, where dads and kids made decisions on aspects of color, form and design in a most artistic way.

Finally, the waffles, muffins, pancakes and cookies were set out just in time for the group breakfast. The morning was capped off with a delightful sing-along led by Morah Heidi Stiel, from the youngest two-year-olds through the senior kindergarteners.

As the students returned to their classes they beamed with satisfaction, knowing that their fathers got a peek into what their Barkai experience is all about.
