Fathers, grandfathers and other guests first joined the students for morning tefillah led by Rabbi Shelomo Levi. Parents took pride at the children’s group prayer, sung to the proper Syrian tunes.
Finally, the waffles, muffins, pancakes and cookies were set out just in time for the group breakfast. The morning was capped off with a delightful sing-along led by Morah Heidi Stiel, from the youngest two-year-olds through the senior kindergarteners.
As the students returned to their classes they beamed with satisfaction, knowing that their fathers got a peek into what their Barkai experience is all about.
