The best way to decide what to buy is to sample different colors. Discover your signature look for gorgeous eyes. If the color is flattering, and you just want a hint of it, put on a matte nude eye shadow over your concealer and you will soften the shade to the depth that flatters you the most. Another way to determine what colors work best is to mix a little on your inner wrist with nude shadow, thus creating beauty that is tailored just for you.
The new metallic shades are beautiful but they can go on too heavily, especially the gold hues. When using a cream eye shadow, blend with a thick dense brush before it dries. Once the cream eye shadows dry they don’t always blend well.
Coral and khaki are also very trendy eye shadow colors. They can be blended into softer versions and will bring out your eye color. Burgundy is also popular and never seems to go out of style. It looks great with a soft mauve or apricot. Finish off the look with lots of bold eyeliner and heavy mascara.
Coral and red-orange have finally taken hold in lipstick. Burgundy is also popular, for day and night. Matte burgundy lips look striking for evening. During the day, a softer version of burgundy is flattering with a lustrous matching lip gloss. For a natural lip, try colors like ballet pink, apricot, soft purple and deep rose in a sheer, non-sticky lip gloss that feels natural on the lips. If you prefer more color, add the same color matching lipstick underneath.
When it comes to blush, coral flatters most of us. It is especially becoming on fair skin.
Now, more than ever before, eyeliner, lip liner, lipstick and nail polish are available in long lasting colors; they stay on longer and don’t smudge
This fall, color is everywhere, not just in makeup. Clothing, shoes and bags are all available in bright, bold colors. Pick a color scheme and go with it. Have a good time and take extra care to plan your palette for a put together look.
