After six years of transforming the lives of the youth in Deal, DSN has expanded its goals! With the addition of a DSN Adult Couples Department, parents are now able to enjoy their own DSN events.
The DSN Couples Bowling Night took place at the Bradley Bowling Lanes. To everyone’s pleasant surprise over 100 people showed up. The evening started with a delicious dinner from Down To Earth. Then, four couples per lane began their bowling fun. The competition was exciting and fun. Congratulations to Albert Antebi for the highest score of the night. Also congrats to Sammy Sitt for bowling a turkey, three consecutive strikes. Participant Joey Tobias remarked, “My kids have had years of fun at DSN and now it’s my turn! Best night ever!”
The next couples event was “The Game Show Night” at the Sephardic Social Center on Deal Road. Following a sumptuous dinner, over 100 people were divided into two teams led by captains David Botton and Jackie Ashkenazi. The professional game show staff began asking Jeopardy-like questions. Smacking the buzzers very quickly, the contestants were eager to answer. Then, physical challenges were brought into the game, including tug-o-war and hula hooping. Perhaps the highlight of the night was Name That Tune. Wives and husbands were literally jumping out of their seats to guess the hit songs.
After Botton’s team was declared the winner, he exclaimed, “What a great night! Our community is thrilled that DSN is expanding and is able to cater to couples as well. We look forward to the next couples event!”.
