This year, Hillel commenced on the construction of our latest additions, Founders’ Hall and a state-of-the-art Auditorium. What is Founders’ Hall? The hall is a testimony to the leadership of Hillel Yeshiva’s founding fathers: Mr. Saul E. Ashkenazi A”H, Mr. Ely Ashkenazi A”H and Mr. Morris I. Franco A”H. Ralph Tawil, Vice President. An alumnus of Hillel Yeshiva, emphasized that “the space will be the shining jewel of our campus” and will serve as a bridge to perpetuate leadership in succeeding generations and remind all who enter that dedication, leadership and hard work bring great projects to life.
Where better to be inspired than in a place dedicated to the memory of such visionary individuals? Founders’ Hall will house the high school’s Leadership Training Seminar and Student Ambassador Programs. The mission of these programs is to provide our students the opportunity to improve their leadership skills through planning, team building and interpersonal communication with the long term goal of making positive changes in their community.
The auditorium will also be a community meeting place for holiday programs, graduations, bar and bat mitzvah celebrations and Bet Hillel Study Program as well as a myriad of other events. Connected to the auditorium will be a wing dedicated to our alumni where numerous events, programs, book clubs and class reunions will take place. Mr. Sammy Saka, President of Hillel Yeshiva, believes that “our alumni are grateful for the strong foundation they received as students and understand that they should come back and give back because that is what will help build Hillel for future generations.” With this new space we believe that this tradition of serving our community will grow and flourish.
Construction has begun on our newest addition to our educational campus. Concrete has been poured and we can see the future rising before us! Soon the building will be alive with students, community members and alumni learning and growing together, making our Jersey Shore community stronger.
