Ohel David and Shlomo Congregation, located by the bay in Manhattan Beach, was put through the mill, thanks to Superstorm Sandy, but little more than a year later we are thrilled to announce that both the synagogue and event hall are back in full swing and more beautiful than ever. There have been magnificent renovations, which include upgraded electrical systems, a brand new kitchen, and a restored elevator. New and enhanced lighting has been added, as well as new flooring, new designer walls and mirrors, an expanded lobby and social hall, and new chairs and tables, as well as many additional enhancements coming soon—including new landscaping, and more exciting surprises.
Our little “jewel by the bay” continues to offer an easy and stress-free solution to planning a celebration. The surrounding area provides a picturesque view of a serene body of water with fishing vessels and quaint sail boats. As you walk into the synagogue, you are immediately in the breathtaking new lobby and social hall glistening with sparkling lights from all around. For your special event, all you have to do is choose a date, and make your invitation list. The specialized colored lighting, which could cost thousands of dollars, is included.
The chairs, which would be at least 10 to 12 dollars each, are included. Standard sized tables are also part of the deal, so you can avoid rentals altogether—and in the end; it’s just the price of the room, which is quite reasonable and very fair, especially when compared to other options. Pick your favorite caterer and florist, (they are all welcome), and you’re good to go.
Ohel David and Shlomo is also one of the only venues where the hall is situated on the main floor. Many are located either upstairs or in a basement, and often they are dark and confining. Some have difficult parking situations and surly looking people out front, and still others are guaranteed to break the bank. None offer the ease and simplicity or the “day at the beach” feeling of this little bay side gem, and certainly none offer the spectacular waterfront views. Now prettier than ever, and still 10 minutes away from most every guest, our Manhattan Beach Synagogue is truly a place to rejoice without all the heartache that can sometimes bog you down.
Manhattan Beach Synagogue holds 400 to 500 guests. If you use the outside areas (with tenting), you can fit up to 600 people comfortably and enjoy the spectacular gardens as well. In addition to the social hall, the synagogue itself holds exceptional beauty for any type of ceremony. When the sunlight comes streaming in, there is nothing else like it. Valet parking in and around the area is also a unique pleasure. With one phone call, you can have it all arranged. You can do more than you need to, or less—that’s up to you; there are no limitations.
We wish to welcome you all to visit our newly renovated building at Ohel David and Shlomo. Come for services, classes, or to have your next family event (Brit Milah, Bar Mitzvah, Engagement, Pidyon Haben or Wedding).
Come to pray with us or play with us, because we have much to celebrate, and we look forward to doing it together.
