Creating Beautiful Lips

Lip color is so important, but deciding whether to wear red or pink can be a huge challenge! Here are some great lipstick tricks and tips I want to share with you.

Apply liner first. Lipstick tends to feather if you apply it before your liner. Also, you won’t be able to see the natural line of your lips if you apply lipstick first. Lipstick will last longer if you fill in your lips with the liner first. If you’re using light lipstick, try a nude liner. Then apply your lipstick on top.

Never use a tester on your lips. It’s just plain unhygienic. Instead, test lip stick on the inside of your palm. It’s closer to lips than the back of your hand.

Keep lipstick off your teeth. After applying lipstick, take your index finger and pop it in your mouth, then pull it out. The excess lipstick will come off on your finger rather than on your teeth.
Mature lips need a little more attention. Mature women should use a lipstick with a rich consistency if their lips are dry so the lipstick won’t feather.

Save the last bits. Down to the last bit of your favorite lipstick? There is plenty more at the bottom of your tube. Scrape out the last bits with a lip brush.

Find your perfect pink. Unsure of which pink is best for you? Just smile; your perfect shade is about the same color as your gums—no lighter.

Create a custom shade. Turn any lip color into a shimmery new shade by swiping sheer golden gloss over lipstick—it instantly warms up every color.

Shape lips without liner. If you’re out of liner, give the illusion of two perfect peaks by dabbing concealer in the groove at the center of your upper lip and blend well.

Use powder for the perfect nude lip. Start with a pale pink shade, then dust translucent powder on top for a matte effect.

Follow these rules and you will save money, look prettier and your lipstick will last longer.
